Jalandhar: Under the aegis of 2 Punjab NCC Battalion, a colorful lecture and awareness program for 500 NCC cadets on ‘Garbage Free India’ was organised at Layalpur Khalsa College. Dr Jaswant Kaur of the college explained the benefits of cleanliness, sanitation and garbage free society. He warned the society about diseases caused by garbage. Cadets presented the benefits of cleanliness through dramatic theatre. Dr. Jaspal Singh, Principal, Captain Karanbir NCC officers, teachers and students were present in the program.
NCC cadets of Doaba College, along with the Municipal Corporation, conducted a cleaning campaign on both sides of the Doaba intersection to Pathankot Highway road. Lt Raul Bhardwaj, NCC Officers and 75 cadets were found working on the front lines of the cleanliness drive. In the cleanliness drive, School of Eminence, Tanda Hoshiarpur cleaned the areas around the school. ANO Vipul Singh and cadets participated. Brigadier Ajay Tiwari, Group Commander NCC Jalandhar said cleanliness is a ‘service’, a collective responsibility which we have to do every day and make the city and the nation beautiful, “which keeps us away from diseases.
